SALMON CREEK
WATER CONTROL STRUCTURE

Client:  Michael Love & Associates
Contractor:  Wallace Structures
Location:  Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Loleta, CA

Construction of new concrete water control structure within tidal restoration area, including stoplog guides and metal weirs, as well as new davit attachments, railings, and catwalk per OSHA standards.  Structural inspection services were provided during construction.

WORTH STREET SUBDIVISION

Owner & Contractor:  Dean Smither
Location:  McKinleyville, CA

Subdivision of existing over-sized city lot with existing residence into two (2) separate lots, satisfying Humboldt County's request for affordable residential infill.  A new single family residence was built on the new parcel, and an infiltration trench was installed to address stromwater runoff on-site.  Other improvements include new driveway aprons,  sidewalk, curb and gutter, and ADA curb ramp at the corner.

TRILLIUM CREEK SUBDIVISION

Owner & Contractor:  Roger Pryor
Location:  Arcata, CA

New eight (8) parcel major subdivision on 17 acres. including natural reserves and pedestrian trails.  Site improvements include a new permeable two-lane access road with concrete pavers, steep fill slopes, cut banks with retaining walls of various materials, and tree protection for existing redwoods.  Civil improvements include new underground utilities to all proposed lots, including water, sewer, electricity, phone and cable.

GRIFFITH STREET SUBDIVISION

Owner & Contractor:  Bo Day, Equity Building
Location:  McKinleyville, CA

Civil design, including grading, drainage and improvement plans, for 8-parcel major subdivision on 1.5 acres with new street and sidewalk improvements, utilities, building pads, detention pond and underground storage.  Low Impact Development (LID) was incorporated into the design of the subdivision, including vegetated swales that direct stormwater runoff to a detention pond.  Erosion control plans and a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan were also provided.  The final plans are approved, and construction will begin in the Spring of 2014.  ATLAS Engineering will handle all construction administration and inspections.
